This week I was singing one of my favorite love songs by Adele, and began to reflect on how great God’s love is. This inspired me to instead of just posting a cover, really talk about how to live out being loved.
Many of us have misunderstood what love truly is. I want to help you shift your focus from what the world’s idea of love is, to God’s view. Love is not an emotion, it’s an action. We understand what real love is in Jesus. 1 John 4:8 says that, “God is love, anyone who doesn’t love others has never known him.”
As Christians we are called to exemplify love through our words, thoughts, expressions, and decisions towards those around us. Love is the ultimate expression of our faith!
Be a representation of God’s love in how you live your life.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. ~1 Corinthians 13:4
Your actions and the way you treat others is a reflection of God’s love in and through you.
Look at Jesus as an exact example of how to live loved. He knew he was loved by God and walked this out through his time on earth, eventually dying for us.
Whether you feel like always showing love or not, make the choice each day to live loved and to reach others with the love of God.
Live this week with a greater assurance of God’s love for you as you walk out loving those around you.<33
