July 2, 1973.
my nana & papa.
my heart lights up when i see a beautiful love story like this.
i grew up watching them fall more and more in love after being together for 45 years.
i sat down with my nana a few months ago as she reminded me how much she adores my papa & how important it is to wait for the guy God has for me. “people don’t fall in love anymore,” she said. nowadays many relationships begin for the wrong reasons which makes love stories like these all the more special.
this picture was taken as my 17 year old grandparents were saying a lasting goodbye before he left for the navy. as her heart was being “torn in two,” their special moment was captured. growing up, i’ve watched them fall more and more in love and strive to have nothing less.
love is what our world lives for. i asked my papa what word he would use to describe their rare love… “intentional & unconditional.” obviously no love story is perfect. but with every hardship, joy, failure, and success, they’ve been intentional to put God as their #1 priority and allow their unconditional love for eachother to grow.
i look forward to one day being able to tell my own lasting love story.
